My name is Tony Morgan, I’m Chief Investment Officer. My job is to figure out where we invest our capital and make sure we invest it wisely. And a key aspect of that is really understanding where the capital goes, the good it’s going to do and how it’s going to change people’s lives.
What’s the most challenging thing about your role?
We are trying to do the hardest things in the hardest places in the world so creativity is central to everything we do, finding solutions to really hard problems.
The investments that we make, they change communities, they change people’s lives, they change the impact on the planet. We invest in really worthwhile things and I’m really proud of that.
We invested a couple of years ago in a big telecom project in Ethiopia with a major international operator. And we’re bringing telecoms, mobile telecoms, to people in Ethiopia that otherwise wouldn’t have access to those services. It’s incredible.
I think if you want the best of both worlds, where we’re investing and all the discipline around investing, but also feeling that we’re doing great things every day and we’re really making a difference, this is the place to be.
