My name is Dayo Ogundare, I’m an investment executive within the financial services debt team. Previously I worked for a commercial bank in Nigeria where I was sitting in the treasury team, working as a sales and origination coverage manager.
I worked in the country my whole life in different areas of the financial services space, some private equity, investment banking, commercial banking. I wanted to do more work outside of Nigeria and BII was the perfect choice for me. At the end of the day we are trying to solve some of the toughest challenges in our markets. Because we take a long-term approach, we’re not always looking to make a quick fortune. We’re looking to go in there and change the lives of the people that we partner with.
How would you describe the culture at BII?
I think one thing BII does very well is it creates an environment where people are able to try different things and bring different ideas and see how we can make those ideas achievable.
What matters most about your career?
What matters most to me, I think, is the personal development that I get here at BII, being able to learn about different markets, being able to work and travel to different parts of the world that I may not have had the opportunity to do, and also knowing that the work that I am doing is touching the lives of different people across the world.
