Investing for gender equity and climate resilience in developing economies
As part of London Climate Action Week, British International Investment (BII), the Global Adaptation and Resilience Investment (GARI) Group, and FinDev Canada co-hosted an insightful event focused on the intersection of gender equity and climate resilience in developing economies.
Investing in gender equity and climate resilience in low-income countries and communities offers significant intersectional benefits. By enhancing gender equity, we can bolster climate resilience, leading to economic, social, and environmental gains. Integrated investments in these areas can drive sustainable development and improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
Entrepreneurs and investees are successfully addressing this intersection, sharing valuable lessons and best practices. Local, community-led examples of climate adaptation supported by private sector investments demonstrate the co-benefits and outcomes of these initiatives. Data highlights the positive impacts, showcasing how these investments can transform communities and contribute to a more equitable and resilient future.
