Video: Measuring commercial and development impact

As the UK’s development finance institution we have a dual mandate, to invest for development impact and commercial success. This places impact measurement at the heart of what we do and we are constantly looking for ways to improve our data collection in order to inform our decision making and that of the companies we invest in.

Given this background, we wanted to develop a practical guide to support investors to understand both new and more established tools and techniques for data collection to measure impact. That’s why we’ve published this handbook for measuring impact.

In this video our Investment Executive Alix Landais talks through the merits of using sensors as a data gathering tool and how they are used to inform decisions at HR Food, the largest private dairy processing company in Jharkhand, India.

Find our impact measurement handbook here.
