British International Investment hosted two events as part of 2024 London Climate Action Week. Both focussed on different aspects of climate adaptation in emerging markets.

Event one: IMPACT= Scaling innovative climate adaptation solutions in emerging markets

Investing in adaptation and resilience is crucial for developing and emerging economies to mitigate the impacts of climate change, such as extreme weather events and resource scarcity. These investments not only safeguard communities and ecosystems but also offer economic benefits by creating new markets and job opportunities.

Innovation is key to developing sustainable, scalable solutions that address local challenges while contributing to global sustainability goals. This session delved into the diverse prospects for investors, ranging from venture capital to growth private equity, highlighting how investments can drive transformative change. The panel also examined viable climate finance opportunities, focusing on mobilising capital for climate adaptation technologies and solutions, and discussed methods to evaluate their impact effectively.
