Lisa G. Thomas

Lisa has 20 years of experience in venture capital and private equity investing in emerging markets; having worked with companies in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Caucasus.

She is a Co-Founder and Partner at ATG Samata, a fund management company dedicated to making investments in scalable businesses in emerging markets that advance opportunities for women and promote gender diversity.

She has served as an IC member and Board Director for numerous for-profit and non-profit entities in Asia, Africa, and the US, working to ensure access to finance is inclusive. She is the co-founder of Advancing Women in Investing, a collaborative of female capital movers ensuring women are represented on investment teams and receive backing as managers, particularly in emerging and frontier markets.

Lisa holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BSc from the University of Oregon. She is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
