Chief Investment Officer and Acting Chief Impact Officer
Maria is the Chief Investment Officer and Acting Chief Impact Officer at British International, providing strategic oversight on all BII’s investment decision making processes and asset allocation. She joined BII in 2012.
Maria brings over 20 years of investment experience, having begun her career in asset management at JPMorgan working with institutional investors. For the past 15 years, she has specialised in impact investing across emerging markets, with experience spanning debt, equity, and fund investments. During her time at British International Investment, Maria has held senior leadership roles within the Financial Services team and, more recently, led the Impact Group. She has served as a board member for several financial institutions across Africa and Asia.
