Piri Norris
Data Protection Officer
Piri Norris joined British International Investment as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in January 2022.
In his role, he is responsible for advising BII colleagues of their data protection obligations and managing the relationship with the regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office. The DPO role is a statutory requirement.
Previously, Piri was the Deputy DPO at the Ministry of Justice where he oversaw the commercial, audit and data subject rights streams. Prior to that, he worked in data protection roles in higher education and the BBC.
Piri has also worked in Freedom of Information roles in the NHS and in central government in Australia and New Zealand. He holds an LLB, LLM, and is admitted to the Roll as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, and is CIPP/E and CIPM qualified.
