Sam Laurie
Chief People Officer
Sam Laurie is the Chief People Officer at BII where she leads the organisation’s people strategy and acts a strategic partner for the executive leadership team and the Board.
Her focus is on building a high-performing and inclusive culture ensuring that BII’s people practices align with the company’s mission, values, strategic objectives and its commitment to attract, develop and retain exceptional and diverse talent.
Sam brings extensive global HR leadership experience across financial services, insurance and risk consulting. Prior to joining BII, she served as the Chief People Officer at Control Risks, Global HR Director at Aon, and Global HR Director at Macquarie Bank.
Sam holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Economic and Social History from Bristol University, an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is a qualified Executive Coach through Henley Business School. Sam has also completed the Business Sustainability Leadership programme at the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
Sam’s passion for developing people is matched by her deep commitment to sustainable development. She has undertaken pro-bono work with organisations including Save the Children, Breaking Barriers and EducAid.
